Prior to joining SVN, Thanasouras gained industry experience as an asset manager for Connaught Real Estate Finance, LLC, in Chicago, providing mezzanine financing for developers. While there Thanasouras’ responsibilities included: acquisition analysis, disposition analysis, asset management, financial management, and operations management. Prior to joining Conlon & Co., Thanasouras was a top producing agent and one of the cornerstone members in the successful launch of the company that is now SVN International Corp.
Before entering the real estate industry Thanasouras spent 14 years in the banking industry as an assistant vice president (AVP) of Small Business Commercial Lending for LaSalle Bank N.A. (now Bank of America) As AVP, Thanasouras oversaw commercial loan business development and underwriting for 15 different branches, gaining valuable experience working in consumer lending and trust.

John is President and CEO of SVN | Montréal Commercial as well as President of STRUKTUR Real Estate Development, which has been developing condo projects in Montréal for the past 12 years. Most recently, he acquired the SVN | Québec master franchise, with its first office now operating as SVN | Montréal Commercial Real Estate and actively serving the Montréal market. With more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, he has played a critical role in helping numerous regional and national organizations with strategic planning, analysis, renegotiation assignments, and the implementation of complex transactions. Throughout his tenure, John has held various leadership positions within the commercial real industry, notably Colliers International and JLL.

In 2008, Gianni joined Vicus Commercial (then called Platinum Commercial) as co-director and shareholder, and was pivotal in the establishment of the residential division and then later, The Vicus Group, the parent company incorporating Vicus Commercial, Vicus Residential and Vicus Strata.
Gianni’s roles within the Group range from overseeing sales and asset management to corporate governance and ongoing financial administration.

Managing Director
After completing his Bachelor of Commerce (Property) degree at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia in 1996, Joseph commenced working as a Property Manager in a mid tier commercial real estate firm. After a period of training, he was solely responsible for the management of a portfolio of 150 properties. Joe completed his training and became a licensed Valuer in 1999 and commencing in 2000, he moved into sales and leasing as part of the industrial department.
In 2004, Joseph established his own real estate business which would later be renamed to Vicus Commercial. From humble beginnings the company moved offices three times in the first five years in order to facilitate the growth that came from the business community’s rapid acceptance of the new style of personalized, honest service and opinions that become the signature of Joe’s approach to property. The first five years also saw the acquisition of a strata management business and the establishment of a residential arm to provide a complete service to the property market.
Whilst his passion for property has lead to extensive involvement in property development, ownership and syndication, Joe is still in the Vicus offices every day talking to clients and advising staff.
Joseph has several formal qualifications including a Bachelor of Commerce (Property) Degree and a Diploma in Financial Planning. He is a Licensed Valuer as well as a Licensed Real Estate Agent and member of REIWA.
